ColorMeHouse Review

If you are following me for a few months already you probably noticed already that I am always looking for activities that promote creativity, and that is why I am really excited about introducing you guys to ColorMeHouse.
ColorMeHouse is a company founded by April McCray, a mom inspired by her passion for creativity. After years of her husband’s tales of childhood and memories of building forts of cardboard boxes as a child, April decided to create ColorMeHouse. ColorMeHouse was created to help children use their imaginations and be creative.
ColorMeHouse features a house and a rocket made of recyclable, eco-friendly cardboard made in the USA. ColorMeHouse is a great way to help kids think inside and outside of the box!!!
I got a ColorMeHouse rocket to play with Lucas, but to be honest with you; I am saving it for him to play in a few months. I think he will love it. I love the idea of this product and the quality of it too.
ColorMeHouse is offering a $10 discount to all Funplayroom readers. Just use the code: "rocketblast" at checkout. Visit their website to learn more about those fun ColorMeHouse!!!

Birmingham Children's Theater - Goldilocks and the Three Bears

I went today to Birmingham Children’s Theater to see Goldilocks and the Three Bears with a friend and her 2 sweet daughters and we had a great time.  Lucas did not blink, at least for the first 30 min of the show. He loved it. He loved the music, the movement, the color, and the noisy. He was trying to figure out where the noises were coming from, like a dog barking or water running.

In the end we got the chance to take pictures with the Three Bears. Lucas did not want to touch them, but at the same time he did not want to leave. He was fine just watching them from my lap, LOL.
I blogged about it a few days ago here and I posted a code for a discount. I am not sure if this code still working, but you can try it.

Development of Drawing - Binder Project

I finally found some time to do Lucas' Arts Binder. It was a pretty easy project to make and pretty fast to finish too.
Here are all the materials that I used:

Fabric
Paper Letters
Hot Glue
Quilt Batting
I got everything at Hobby Lobby, but you can also find it at Michaels, Wal Mart...
First I covered the binder with my quilt batting just to give it a soft good looking. I used the hot glue to glue it to my binder. Then I covered it with my fabric. For a better finish, I used some green ribbon on the edge of the fabric.
After that I just decorated it the way I wanted. I wrote Lucas' name on it, and add some pictures and that was it!! Project done!!
Like I told you guys before, I am keeping Lucas' drawings on this binder. It is a great way to keep a track of his development and also a great Memory Book for him in the future!!!

Development of Drawing

I have mentioned here before about my idea of collecting Lucas drawing in a binder so I could see his development and keep a great memory book for him too.
So this weekend I am working on his binder. I got some props to make a great cover for his binder and I think it will look great. I can't wait to share that here with you guys.
Lucas loves to draw. He is on the scribbling stage where he is having fun drawing for the simple fact of doing it and Mommy loves to watch him doing it.
I will try to make my scanner work and I will post some of his arts soon here, I promise!!!

Bath Tub Paint Party

family fun, paint party

A few weeks ago I was visiting one blog that I do like a lot - The Idea Room - and saw her post about a fun time that she had with her kids painting at the bath tub and I loved the idea. I decided to do something similar to that with Lucas so I created my own paint with him and we had lots of fun.

To make the paint we used:
Flour
Kids shower gel
Food coloring

In a plastic container pour a little of the flour, ( I am terrible with giving recipes up, I never know how much of this or that I used, sorry, you can blame it on me), twice that amount of the shower gel and then color it with food coloring.  I used shower gel just in case it gets to his eyes, so I knew it would not be a big of a deal.

I gave him some brush, sponges and let him play. He painted our entire tub; tried to paint myself, his toys. What a good messy bath he had! I enjoyed as much as he did watch him playing at the tub. I just wanted to make sure that he wasn't eating that.

In the end, I gave him some clean sponges and asked him to clean it up. He is such a great helper!!!! Seriously, Lucas likes everything clean and organized and I love it on him. It is funny because sometimes, when the house is messy, he will be picking things and organizing it as he is playing. Just like his mom, LOL.

McWane Science Center

That is a great place to go with your kid, specially in days like yesterday. Like I mentioned before, we are not used to this cold weather and I do not like it. I am counting the days for the hot Summer, but while I am waiting, why not have some fun right?
family fun

We took our son to McWane Science Center today. He loves it. His favorite part is the big piano. I am still trying to figure out who likes going to McWane Science Center the most, my husband or my son.
If your kid is already walking, that is a place to go. They have areas reserved for little kids to play as for the big ones too. Get ready to play and go!
